Elliot Lifson joined the Desautels Faculty of Management in June, 2005 as Adjunct Professor. He is Vice-Chairman of Peerless Clothing Inc. and President of the Canadian Apparel Federation (CAF). He is and one of the longest sitting members of the Apparel & Footwear Sectoral Advisory Group on International Trade (SAGIT). In addition to his duties with the Federation, he is a member of the Board of the Apparel Manufacturing Institute of Quebec (AMIQ), Director of the Fondation De La Mode De Montréal, Director of the Fondation De La Tolerance, and Director of the Apparel Human Resource Council. As well, Mr. Lifson is a First Vice-President of the Montreal Board of Trade, and sits on the board of many charitable institutions. He is a graduate in Law from the Université de Montréal and a member of the Quebec Bar. He received his MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.

Peerless Clothing has been manufacturing men’s apparel in Canada since 1919. The company is privately owned and employs in excess of 3,000 people, who work in a modern and technologically advanced manufacturing facility in Montreal. Following the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Peerless established itself as an international manufacturing and marketing company with a significant presence in the U.S. market. Peerless has signed exclusive license agreements to market well-known brand names, such as Chaps by Ralph Lauren, Lauren by Ralph Lauren, CK Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Sean John, IZOD, and Kasper. Peerless products can be found in every major retailer in the United States and Canada.
