Unsteady gasdynamics. High-speed flows. Shock waves and fundamentals of their interactions. Elastodynamics.

Computational fluid dynamics: unstructured adaptive grids, efficient high-resolution schemes for essentially unsteady flows, numerical flow visualization.

Current applications: air-breathing propulsion, explosion safety.
