
Professor Belley's teaching and research interests are in contract and general theory of law from the perspective offered by the social sciences, mainly sociology and economic analysis of law. A former fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (Law in Society program), he co-ordinated the collective book Le droit soluble (LGDJ, 1996) and a special issue of the Canadian Journal of Law and Society on legal pluralism (1997). He recently published a book on a large empirical study of contractual practice s in industrial context. Professor Belley is currently a member of the Comité de jury du concours juridique de la Fondation du Barreau du Québec and a special consultant of the Comité de révision du Code de procédure civile du Québec for the Quebec Department of Justice.
