Computational Electromagnetics. More specifically, I am interested in biological applications. The current project involves development of a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) inverse-scattering method, which would allow calculation of near-surface breast tissue parameters in the microwave range. The purpose of such an algorithm would be patient-specific calibration of the recently proposed breast tumor detection systems. Although this is the initial motivation for development of inverse-scattering FDTD algorithm, it could cover a broad range of applications, not necessarily limited to medical topics. General future interests and research involve antenna design and the related numerical electromagnetics methods.
