PAVLO (PAUL) KALYTA

Corporate governance; executive compensation; earnings management.

Bio

Dr. Kalyta has been working at McGill University since 2009. His professional and academic expertise covers all areas of management accounting, with a particular focus on corporate governance and executive compensation contracts. His research has been published in leading academic journals (The Accounting Review, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy) and has been extensively covered in the business media (Forbes, Business Week, The Globe and Mail, among others). Dr. Kalyta has also received three best paper awards for his research at the conference of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada.

Dr. Kalyta is actively involved in the academic community. He regularly presents his research at international conferences and often serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for academic journals and funding agencies. In 2010-2011, Dr. Kalyta chaired the Research Committee and served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association. He also served on the Editorial Board of Contemporary Accounting Research.

Dr. Kalyta holds a PhD (2007) in accounting and an MBA (2003) from Concordia University, as well as an undergraduate business degree from Kiev National University of Trade and Economics. Between 2007 and 2009, Dr. Kalyta held a faculty position at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Kalyta is a representative of CMA Canada at McGill University.
